Thank you for coming to this world

“Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”… as a boy, these blessings used to be a common saying that we extended to one another as we moved through the holiday season. It was once thought rude to not say them or respond to their well wishes, however, in today’s society it is more common to ignore this greeting or not to say anything for fear of offending someone by the religious connotation that they represent.
Yet for Christians, Jesus is the reason for the season.

As I was meditating on this I asked myself a question and ask you to muse with me on this …What if there was no Christmas? What would that look like? Hmmmm…

  1.  There wouldn’t be any Christians in the world.
  2. Many hospitals and colleges would never have existed.
  3. Our churches would not exist.
  4. Our government would not be here as we know it, which means our freedoms would be gone.

The list would go on and on. The point is that the coming of the Son of God, Jesus Christ has made a cataclysmic affect on all the world throughout all time. This effects of this statement is experienced by all whether a person believes in Jesus Christ or not.

Therefore, I say with sincerity to the Lord Jesus, thank you for coming to this world so that we may know you and enter into yours.

Merry Christmas!!!
